Gawler Blue Light conducts 6 “Underage Rage” dance events each year for ages 8-17 years.  Drug and alcohol education and safety messages are a big focus at these events, via the large screens, as is interaction with the youth.
Money raised from events goes towards conducting other Youth Programs, Initiatives and Projects.

The GBL committee is chaired by a current serving police officer and comprises Police Officers and Community Members, including local youth, who all Volunteer their time.  The committee endeavours to work alongside other youth agencies where possible and welcomes those with a passion for helping youth.

GBL have a proud history of helping  launch and support other branches and activities and is able to travel to share their events experience and provide the use of their equipment.
I.e. Two Wells BL, Barossa BL, Eudunda, Riverton and Georgetown events and the Canoe SA “Team Paddle Challenge” school event at “Roonka”.

Gawler Blue Light was awarded the Town of Gawler”s “Community Group of the Year” in the 2009 Australia Day Awards.

Gawler Blue Light also conducts the International Duke of Edinburgh”s Award program for ages 14 – 24 years, including conducting the “Adventurous Journey” components.
GBL in conjunction with the award have recently sent 2 groups of teens on life changing challenges to trek the historic Kokoda Trail in Papua New Guinea as a part of their Gold and Silver Awards.
