Police Link Flinders Medical Centre

triple-zeroThe Police Link Program was created in 1997 by Sergeant Kevin Beinke at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital and the program was expanded to the Flinders Medical Centre in 2009.

The aims of the program are to provide local members with the rare opportunity to alter the negative opinion and stereotyping of Police, by broadening the understanding and acceptance of differing cultures, beliefs and values between Police, hospital personnel and the community.

The philosophy of the program is to reduce crime, through the provision of appropriate education, and to provide personal and professional development to both Police Officers and hospital personnel.  This is achieved by the interraction between young people, Police and hospital staff resulting in positive relationships.

It is programmed that where possible there are 4 visits a year to the hospital, being :

Easter, June, September (Royal Show) and December (Christmas time).
